I tend not to play this kind of Ragas. All the notes are very still and not much scope for Rudraveena. Also the gaps between the notes make it an extra challenge to perform. This is definitely not my best, but, oh well 🥺 forgive me for the Hand slips 🙏🏻 Raag Bhinna Shadaj Rudra Veena: Madhuvanti Interested in studying dhrupad? Raag Kirwani has always been a favourite of mine, I have played on multiple occasions, what makes this one different is that, here I let my full craziness out. This Raga has the perfect blend of happiness and sadnesses, longing and indifference, calm and crazy. This raag can show all the rasas in my opinion. I tried to bring the best of both Gharanas that I stidied in here in this exploration. ...

A much awaited Performance by Vidushi Mita Nag. After her father Sangeetacharya Manilal Nag's critical illness and recovery over the past couple of months, his able daughter and disciple pays the grand tribute to her father and guru in an intense alap, jod and jhala in Raga Darbari. This is the final recital in the PARAMPARA PRASTAAR series of recitals, where the artist rounds off with the same...

Yaman to Kalyan, a rasika musician's switch over on her debut Surbahar performance. Vidushi Mita Nag ventures trying her hands on a differently carved Surbahar, with only 7 strings ,where the tarafs won't resonate while the pure notes linger, bringing the instrument even more closer to the Rudraveena and making the shrutis more visible. A short Alap in raga Yaman where Mita ji shifts her mood t...

Rudra veena is of rudra give respect to the vasdhya dress neetly and come to performance pls daughter it will make you more respectful
@@rajkumarlalithaashram6155 it’s extremely amusing to me that you assumed your comment towards what a woman wears, is dignified and in harmony with the art form that I have dedicated my life to and you are just a casual, judgemental spectator of
So respectful and cultured you are ( sarcasm 😂)…. Who are to tell what to give respect to and what not to do. She has dedicated her entire life to rudraveena . And all you can do is point out her dress . Which mindset of era are you from ? The mughals ? She will wear what she feels like . You dont get to tell her . If you dont like the music just simply get lost and get a life which you probably not have one .
You dont need to show your troll like concern about her dress . She has dedicated her life to rudraveena far more than you can comprehend. So if it is too much for you just dont listen rather than passing your misogynistic deregulating comments . We have seen people like you who cant appreciate goodness and tries to troll in whatever possible ways . I think you are stuck up in boxed up mind set . Try broadening your mind and if possible be nice and respectful which i highly doubt .
here’s an idea, what if people like you with your opinions create enough trauma and discouragement amongst the the people like me, that I ( and younger generations that I am guiding) stop playing altogether? Just to save ourselves from the kinds of you, because understand this, we can just go to do some other things with our lives and exhale at the absence of such traumatic judgements.
In old Bollywood movie this instrument use.
The choice of dress does not go with the dignity of the art form
If you have the right amount of dignity then you should haven’t commented on her choice of dress ! Its up to her what she wants to wear and you dont get to say this ! Tell me honestly are you here for the music or just for trolling . Cause we have seen a lot of people like who have nothing to do in their life . Jealous of other’s achievements . And try to troll . Like seriously. Get a life . Or maybe reach to the hight of achievement she has attained…. Then maybe try talking .

Just to save ourselves from the kinds of you, because understand this, we can just go to do some other things with our lives and exhale at the absence of such traumatic judgements. So, I ask you this, what would you like to focus on? Someone wearing something that they are comfortable in and playing the instrument to the best of their capabilities or not playing at all because they refuse to dress up a certain way?
Changing the tradition, you play well, but your clothes don't, improve that
a person like you pops up again? Please tell me from which era you belong for ? It should her choice to decide what she is gonna wear . DONOT ASSUME THAT YOU HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO TALK LIKE THIS .
And just if you are satisfied with the way you dress up then let it be … why forcing it on someone ? Isnt that rude commenting on a woman’s dress ? You should feel real bad for what you said .
Eyes up here 👁️👁️ listen to the the bhairav and if you can appreciate the bhairav or else JUST LEAVE
I hope you feel proud to be a part of the very mentality which has been the detriment of indian tradition . Just consider how bizzare it is to have a problem with a living visual image of saraswati maa. A beautiful and sensual woman playing veena has been a prominent symbol of india since time immemorial.. here we don't consider it as anything outside our "tradition" Sad that people like you carry on the legacy of the outside influences who, over the course of history, came to this land and perverted the respect and honour of a woman . Till today it continues through uneducated and uninformed opinions like yours. Please examine your views and where they came from , before you speak on something which is much greater than yourself. At first glance your rude comment seems like just more trashy blabber from yet another internet troll. But its also noteworthy sir , as your casual words are so symbolic of the very problems faced by all young indian women today - forced into a limiting, patriarchal mindset , that is not originally from their land.... the ones who have the vision and strength to break these boundaries , will have to face the kind of idiocy you have just presented here . Please never come back to our land . As someone who asks an illustrious and beautiful female veena player to dress down , you have no place within the indian tradition and are part of the very forces which oppose it . Joy Maa

I have been following your performances since you first started posting during COVID (I think). Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to produce these videos! This Bhairav is amazing. Hoping to hear an equally amazing Bihag in the future (please)!
@@gauravkapoor2902 these is a recent audio bihag published on all music streaming platforms. I do recommend you to check it out. Thanks 🙏🏼
Good eve Ma'am. I've been listening to you for quite some time and am an absolute fan😊 I cane across a peculiar feature, on youtube, and...I think it is a rudra veena, with sympathetic strings... Is such a string arrangement possible and practical in present day rudra veenas? Attaching the link below... ua-cam.com/video/QAJ3lXw6rdw/v-deo.htmlsi=_FVgTJ0JNb4mv3-y
Divine, Meditative, Heavenly and simply Amazing
jay jay maa
Next gen of gundecha bros coming god bless them
What do Eastern women and Western men have in common? We focus on the essentials.
Dha din ta titgadigan intahi bas😊
Sounds awesome! Haven't seen "artificial" or "harp harmonics" on any Indian instruments before, they should be used more
Thanks for this soulful music. Traditional dressing would have added to the aesthetics and sensibilities
@@sugathanramasubrahmanyan1229 it’s not considered chivalrous to pass comments on a lady’s wardrobe choices.
For a fact just by playing this instrument (which women weren’t even allowed to touch just few decades ago) she is breaking the traditions. Why would she want to “dress traditional” which she might not even be comfortable wearing to fit into those aesthetics and sensibilities?
May Maa Kali bless you always!
Beautiful girl, beautiful instrument, beautiful play!
You have the luckiest cats in the world.
zabardast!
aahhh What a clarity.......This is one of your best performances.....Super proud of you
@@prashantpenumatsa7467 I hope you’re still practicing 😁😁😁
@@Madhuvanti 😑Will not lie to you......fell into the loop of career, sure will resume soon.
She looks like Tinkerbell holding a pair of balls
This is so cool! I never straight up heard a rudra veena being played solo, this is my new favorite instrument. Incredible performance!!
Truly, music from the heavens.
Sublime.
Sound to disappear into.
Lovely recital
OM .. Soulful.
Something cosmic... Thanks! Что-то космическое... Благодарю!
I would like to know which vani do you follow?
@samriddhabanerjee2712 its the vaani (language) of the cats. Thats why she always meows and purrs. Cat-er-vaani. Or you can google up about her. Whichevs 😂
@@samriddhabanerjee2712 I belong to Bishnupur gharana. And follow sadharani geeti. 😇🙏🏼
I hope things have improved for you since then.
I am enjoying this Madhuvanti madness. hahaha!
Please, forgive this clumsy attempt to humour you.
You are not alone in your waiting and disappointing. Maybe it's the price of knowing to much or realization of isolation from humanity with it's divisions hate and politics and devaluation of sacred life. In Shiva, speaking of Bhairo there is destruction and rebirth. Listening to you brought that to mind. Of course I'm talking of my perspective, I don't know your internal thoughts.
Flowing between the swaras like water, outstanding
I'm listening to this on my phone's speaker. At 00:09, when the first base string was played, I really thought it was Pandit Jasraj ji singing "Om". It truly was astonishing. I was surprised and had to check multiple times, and it is sounding like that to me! Well played! ❤
Oh that….. not pt. Jasraj . It was her cat’s meowing
@mithilbanerjee9766, can you please explain to me what does "cat " mean or represent about her veena ?? Is this a metaphor or something else?
Beautiful music played by a beautiful lady. 😍🤩🙏 J'adore Madhuvanti. #lotus l listened to the premier of this and now am going to listen all over again.
Mesmerizing. You're an amazing rudra veena player. As a manicurist, love your nails ❤😅. Anyway, would like to see you perform more solo concerts. Best wishes.
Your father was as we say in the west, a good man.
@@lestercarl he is a very good man. And so is Mita di. I wouldn’t be anything if it wasn’t for her.
@@Madhuvanti In part due to the accidents of time and space I have not always choice but opportunity in choosing gurus or (ustads) One of the nicest was Panditji Ravi Shankar, the other kind, wonderful person was Aruna Kalle Narayan. She once told me;"I don't feel I belong to any gharana" and in the same conversation:"You don't want a student to be stuck with you the rest of your life", "Open up your mind!".Time and disappointment have taught me the wisdom of her philosophy.
I sense some of that beauty of spirit in yourself.
And there You are again. Superbe sound. Thank you for sharing!
Simply majestic
Do you know any rudra veena teacher in Pune?
Waiting...
